Competitor Qualifying – How does it work

The age old question of clarity from competitors and spectators, while the system has been developed, each year the qualification system has changed to suit the competition landscape.

So how does someone qualify, we break down the nitty gritty details below.

STREET (all divisions have both Male & Female)
OPENS
3 Rounds, starting on day 1 with a maximum of 24 entrants.
Top 10 go into Semi Finals from Day 1.
The semi finals is made up of 20 skaters.
These are:
10 from day 1.
Top 3 previous years winners.
Top 7 from Etnies Series Leaderboard.

15 & Under
3 Rounds, starting on day 1 with a maximum of 24 entrants.
Top 8 go into Semi Finals from Day 1.
The semi finals is made up of 16 skaters.
These are:
8 from day 1.
Top 3 previous years winners.
Top 5 from Etnies Series Leaderboard.

12 & Under
3 Rounds, starting on day 1 with a maximum of 24 entrants.
Top 8 go into Semi Finals from Day 1.
The semi finals is made up of 16 skaters.
These are:
8 from day 1.
Top 3 previous years winners.
Top 5 from Etnies Series Leaderboard.

9 & Under
2 rounds, Starting on day 2 (thursday) with a maximum of 24 entrants in male and 24 in Female. The top 6 in each category will go into the final on Saturday.
This division is only 2 rounds and a new division, so there is no qualifying.

Rules across all divisions
Semi Finals – If a competitor a) from previous year or b) seeded from leaderboard, does not show, the next person comes from the qualifying day, not the seeding list, so an extra person from the qualification day would go through.

What if i haven’t had a chance to qualify?
Day 1 is completely Open, so its best to register as soon as possible, to make sure you get a space. Winners from day one, will go through to semi finals.
